Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum, husband of internet sensation, Afua Asantewaa has suggested to the tourism minister to honor and acknowledge his wife.
Mr. Owusu is of the view that his wife has projected Ghana, and the Akwaaba village globally so well that many people have gotten to know of the aforementioned places.
The husband of Afua Asantewaa believes that had it not been his wife’s sing-a-thon attempt, many people wouldn’t have gotten to know of Ghana and the Akwaaba village.
According to him, Akwaaba village is a perfect name so there is no need to change it, however, the tourism minister can name a place within the Akwaaba village after his wife, suggesting Afua Asantewaa’s corner or Afua Asantewaa’s stage.
“Akwaaba Village is a perfect name, but I think it is high time we honored my wife, Asantewaa. They should give her space, maybe Asantewaa’s stage or Asantewaa’s corner,“ Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum confidently said.
When asked why he thinks they should give his wife a space within the Akwaaba village, Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum confidently said that many people from diverse locations know about his wife’s sing-a-thon attempt, the country she did it, and the venue, however, many people do not know exactly where the event took place so this would serve as a tourist site where people would go there just to see where his wife performed.
“It will serve as a tourist site. Those who watched it on TV, anytime they visit Accra, will visit it and know where the lady performed. It is a personal appeal, but I believe it should be considered“, Mr. Kofi Owusu Aduonum added
