Actress Jackie Appiah was ecstatic when she had the opportunity to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, during their 3-day visit to Nigeria.
Several Nigerian blogs reported that the encounter occurred at the prestigious Delborough Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria.
A video captured a smiling Jackie Appiha exchanging pleasantries with the royals.
Taking to her Instagram account, Jackie Appiah shared her feelings of gratitude for the privilege of meeting the royal couple.
“Royalty called, and I answered!!! A day out with Prince Harry and Megan Markel; Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” she posted.
In a follow-up post, she added, “It was an honour to meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Lagos, Nigeria, over the weekend. They are incredibly lovely people.”
In the meantime, the British royals have concluded their visit to Nigeria on Sunday, during which the couple utilized their fame to shed light on important causes.
Harry actively participated in a sitting volleyball match alongside disabled athletes, who were all Nigerian army veterans.
Nigeria has shown keenness in hosting the Invictus Games, a charitable sporting event established by the duke ten years ago to support wounded soldiers.
On the other hand, Meghan co-hosted a women’s leadership gathering, where she made a second mention of her Nigerian heritage throughout the trip.
“Thank you very much for how graciously you’ve all been welcoming my husband and I to this country,” she said, pausing before adding, “my country.”
The simple two words were met with cheering and applause.
