Afua Asantewaa, a Guinness World Record (GWR) trialist, has piqued the interest of social media users after a video showing her nodding off mid-performance during her second attempt to achieve a new singing record went viral.
The ambitious GWR experiment, held at the Heroes Park Annex in Kumasi, intended to record the most hours spent singing.
Afua Asantewaa, clad in a vivid African-print attire, was seen standing behind the microphone, performing reggae-dancehall artist Samini’s smash song “My Own.”
The physical toll of the rigorous endeavor became apparent as Afua closed her eyes while singing, attempting to keep up with the song’s words.
Despite her visible fatigue, the supportive Kumasi crowd rallied behind her, singing along enthusiastically and cheering her on with words of encouragement.
