The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) Executive Director Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s bust has been damaged.

The incident happened at around 11:30 AM when unknown people broke into the EOCO building and broke the statue.

Two police officers were on the scene, but they were powerless to prevent the vandalism.

Since it was unveiled in October of last year, the damaged bust has been the focus of public discussion.

Staff of EOCO commissioned and revealed the statue to honour their Executive Director, naming the surrounding area “Obaatanpa Tiwaa Gardens.”

While intended as a gesture of appreciation for her leadership and service, the move sparked considerable controversy both within and outside the organization.

Critics questioned the appropriateness of the decision, particularly its timing and execution.

Social media was flooded with comments about whether EOCO staff had the mandate to independently erect such a tribute without government authorization.
