- According to sources, Dede Ayew is ready to return to the Black Stars after a year away from the team.
The Captain of the Black Stars received his last call-up into the team in March 2024 a move many people kicked against while others rejoiced for his exclusion from the team claiming he had hijacked the team and prevented others from showcasing their form.
With some international games coming up, Coach Otto Addo according to a source is contemplating calling the experienced player back into the team to effect some change.
This decision comes after the team’s abysmal performance that made the country fail to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations to be staged in Morocco.
The Black Stars would seek to redeem their image in March when they face off with Madagascar and Chad.
Coach Otto Addo per the sources believes the inclusion of Ayew, Ghana’s most capped player, can bring back the team’s spirit and back to winning ways with his experience.
The former Marseille player led Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and was instrumental in the Black Stars qualifying for the 2023 AFCON.
