The High Court in Koforidua has dismissed a case that was challenging the election of Frank Annoh-Dompreh as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency. This case came after the 2024 general elections, where Annoh-Dompreh won the seat.

The case was brought by someone who believed the election results were not fair and wanted the court to cancel the results. However, the court did not agree.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the court said the petition had no strong evidence and therefore could not be accepted.

The judge, His Lordship Krofa Addae, said the results announced by the Electoral Commission were fair and represented the true choice of the voters in the area. He also ruled that the petitioner must pay GH¢25,000 as a cost for bringing the case to court.

Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, who is the Director of Legal Affairs for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), filed an application asking the court to dismiss the case. The court agreed with his argument and ended the matter.

After the ruling, Mr. Annoh-Dompreh, who is also the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, expressed happiness about the court’s decision. He said the ruling confirms that he truly won the election and that the people of Nsawam-Adoagyiri have confidence in him as their representative.

He thanked his supporters and promised to continue working hard to serve the community. This decision ends the legal battle and clears the way for Annoh-Dompreh to continue his work as the MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
