Nana Opoku Ampomah is known as the person who founded the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and also founded Madina Senior High School (SHS).
Nana Opoku Ampomah believed that education was very important. He wanted young people to learn skills that would help them get good jobs and live better lives. That is why he worked hard to open schools that focus on business and professional training.
In 1965, he helped start UPSA, which was first called the Institute of Professional Studies. At that time, many young people who wanted to study accounting and business had to go outside Ghana. But with UPSA, they could now stay in the country and get quality education.
Nana Opoku Ampomah didn’t stop there. He later helped to open Madina Senior High School to give more young people the chance to go to school. This school became one of the popular schools in the Madina area and has helped many students over the years.
Because of his great work, many people remember Nana Opoku Ampomah as a true hero in education. His dream was to give every child the chance to go to school and learn something useful. Today, both UPSA and Madina SHS continue to grow and help thousands of students, all thanks to his vision and hard work.
Ghanaians will always be thankful to him for the big role he played in building strong schools that continue to train future leaders. Currently, UPSA is one of the biggest universities in Ghana.
His details have been captured at UPSA’s official website.
