Farida Mahama, the daughter of Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama, has shown kindness once again.
On May 8, 2025, she visited the Atua Government Hospital in Odumase Krobo, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She was joined by members of her charity group, Serenity Community Club (SCC).
During the visit, Farida and her team donated a wide range of items to support both the hospital and its patients. These included baby diapers, baby wipes, toiletries, cooking oil, rice, washing detergents, boxes of sugar and Cerelac, and cartons of Milo. She also donated medical equipment like IV poles with wheels, which help make hospital care easier and more efficient.
Farida took time to walk through the hospital wards, speaking with patients and hospital workers. She especially focused on helping nursing mothers and children who were receiving treatment or visiting for checkups. The hospital staff and patients were happy to welcome her, and many expressed their thanks for her generosity.
In a short speech, Farida said she and her team hope to continue supporting communities and changing lives. She took pictures with staff and patients before ending the visit. Many Ghanaians praised her online, calling her kind, humble, and thoughtful.
This is not the first time Farida has given back to a health facility. On December 31, 2024, she and her team visited La Polyclinic in the Greater Accra Region. There, she donated similar items to nursing mothers and even shared food from Papaye Fast Food with the people at the hospital. She explained that although her group had mostly focused on donating to schools in the past, they now aim to help health centres as well.
Farida’s recent acts of kindness have received positive reactions from the public, with many Ghanaians admiring her caring spirit and calling her a true daughter of her father.
