According to a report by Metro TV on Friday, 9th May, 2025, a sad event has happened in Berekum Jinijini, a town in the Bono Region of Ghana. A 28-year-old final-year student nurse named Kyere Gifty has reportedly been murdered. She was a student at the Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
According to early reports, Gifty went to visit a young man believed to be her boyfriend. His name is Edmond Ayomah, and he is 23 years old. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a normal visit ended in tragedy. Gifty never returned from the visit and was later confirmed dead.
Her father, Pastor Kyere Jonathan, who is also the senior pastor at the Agape Evangelical Church in Jinijini, shared his pain in a short interview. He said the news was heartbreaking and very shocking to him and the family. He called on the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that justice is done.
The Ghana Police Service is currently working on the case. They are trying to find out exactly what led to the young woman’s death. The motive behind the incident is still unknown, and the full story is yet to come out.
This incident has left the people of Berekum Jinijini and many others very disturbed. Losing a young woman with a bright future in such a painful way is a big loss not only to her family but also to the school and the community.
