Popular Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has sent some messages to President John Dramani Mahama about Obuobia Darko-Opoku for her tireless work and strong dedication to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the run-up to the December 2024 general elections.
In a Facebook post on Friday, 9th May, 2025, Nana Aba described Obuobia as someone who did more than just campaign. She said Obuobia gave her heart and soul to the party and the presidential candidate. According to Nana Aba, Obuobia went from village to village, town to town, speaking to people, comforting them, and inspiring them with hope and confidence.
“She didn’t just campaign,” Nana Aba wrote. “She listened, comforted, inspired.” She added that Obuobia made the difficult journey into remote areas of the country not because it was easy, but because she truly believed in the NDC, in Ghana, and in the power of the people.
Nana Aba continued by praising Obuobia’s spirit, saying she worked from dawn till midnight with a smile, showing care and determination. “That kind of dedication can’t be taught,” Nana Aba said. “It’s who she is.”
Although Obuobia was later appointed as Deputy Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, Nana Aba feels the role does not match the level of sacrifice, experience, and hard work Obuobia showed during the campaign. “She deserved more. She still does,” the post concluded.
Many Ghanaians who saw the post agreed with Nana Aba, saying Obuobia has always been committed to public service and should be given even higher responsibilities.
Obuobia Darko-Opoku is known as a strong communicator and former parliamentary candidate. She has been praised by party members and supporters for her ability to connect with people and stay focused on helping the NDC succeed.
