Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has sent some messages to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The 2024 flagbearer told NPP members to come together and work hard for a big win in the 2028 general elections. He said this while speaking in the Volta Region on Thursday, May 8, during the party’s Thank You Tour.
Dr. Bawumia, who was the NPP’s flagbearer in the 2024 elections, admitted that the party did not get the results they wanted in the last election. However, he encouraged party members not to lose hope but rather focus on the future. “Yes, we were disappointed, but that is in the past. What we must focus on now is how we can rise again and make our party stronger,” he said.
He explained that the party needs to build strong systems at all levels. According to him, this includes forming active groups at the constituency level and bringing in more volunteers to help with party work. “We must rebuild our base. From national leaders to polling station officers, everyone has a role to play. Let’s work hard and bring back the confidence of Ghanaians,” he added.
While addressing party supporters in Ho, Dr. Bawumia said the Volta Region is very important to the NPP, even though it has been a stronghold of the opposition. He believes the party can win support in the region by listening to people and keeping promises made to them.
He ended his speech with a strong call for unity and action: “Let us rise and rebuild together. Victory in 2028 is possible if we work hard. We have the people, the ideas, and the determination. Now is the time to move forward.”
