During the ceremony, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II praised the awardees for their dedication to improving the lives of Ghanaians. Other recipients included Dr. Kwame Despite, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, and Dr. Nick Danso, CEO of Ghana Link Network Services, for their contributions to various sectors. Veteran musician Agya Koo Nimo also received an award for his immense contribution to Ghanaian culture and music.
In a separate context, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills was recognized for his outstanding contributions to Christianity and humanitarian work across Africa. As the founder of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches, he has made a lasting impact through his Healing Jesus Campaign and the Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center.
The Asantehene has also been engaging with President Mahama on matters affecting Ghana. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II urged President Mahama to fulfill his promises to Ghanaians during the Akwasidae celebration. In response, President Mahama sought the Asantehene’s support in tackling Ghana’s economic challenges, acknowledging the monarch’s pivotal role in national affairs.
