Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, has visited the Jubilee House to meet with the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, after being summoned over a viral video involving Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.
In the video, which has attracted widespread attention on social media, Sammy Gyamfi is seen handing over a bundle of cash, believed to be in US dollars, to Nana Agradaa. The video has raised concerns among many Ghanaians, especially because it comes at a time when the government is pushing for more accountability and transparency from public officials.
Following the video, the Chief of Staff invited Sammy Gyamfi to explain the incident and clear the air on what actually happened. According to sources close to the Presidency, Sammy Gyamfi showed up at the Jubilee House early in the morning on Monday, May 12, 2025. He reportedly left the premises around 11:00 AM after a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Staff.
Although the full details of what was discussed in the meeting have not yet been made public, insiders say that Sammy Gyamfi appeared very remorseful and expressed regret over how the issue has affected the image of the government. He is said to have explained that the money given to Agradaa was a personal gift and not linked to any official duty.
Earlier, on Sunday, May 11, Sammy Gyamfi issued a public apology, saying the act was a private gesture and not meant to be recorded or shared online. However, critics argue that the situation still raises questions about the judgment and conduct of public officials, especially in light of President John Mahama’s new Code of Conduct for Public Officials, which calls for integrity and discipline.
The Chief of Staff is expected to make a formal statement in the coming days to inform the public about the outcome of the meeting. Meanwhile, the issue continues to stir public debate. Many citizens are watching closely to see how the government will handle the matter.
