Popular lawyer and outspoken NPP supporter, Maurice Ampaw, has weighed in on the controversial video circulating online that shows Sammy Gyamfi handing out dollar bills to Nana Agradaa. The footage has stirred intense public debate, with many questioning the implications for political integrity and corruption.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, Ampaw expressed that if a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member had been caught in a similar act, the response from the opposition would have been far more severe. According to him, Sammy Gyamfi would have immediately held a press conference to harshly condemn the behavior if it were someone from the NPP.
He described the situation as a clear case of double standards and accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of hypocrisy. Ampaw went further to make a serious allegation, claiming that businessman Ibrahim Mahama has empowered Sammy Gyamfi, enabling what he described as corrupt behavior.
“Ibrahim Mahama has equipped Sammy Gyamfi to be highly corrupt,” Ampaw asserted.

He also criticized Gyamfi for showing disregard for the Ghanaian currency, suggesting that his casual handling of the dollar bills demonstrates a dismissive attitude toward the cedi. Ampaw remarked that anyone who can give out such large amounts so easily must have significant undisclosed wealth.
Ampaw concluded by urging Ghanaians not to overlook the incident, emphasizing that it raises valid concerns about corruption, accountability, and the true character of some individuals in leadership.
