Former Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has added his voice to the ongoing discussions about Sammy Gyamfi’s recent donations to some NDC party members.
According to him, the National Communications Officer of the NDC did not make those donations purely out of kindness but for personal gain.
Speaking in an interview, Inusah Fuseini stated that while donations and support are good, the motive behind them is what matters. He believes that Sammy Gyamfi had something to benefit from what he gave out, which is why he is facing backlash from some party members.
“What Sammy Gyamfi did was for profit,” Inusah said.
The former MP explained that in political parties, leaders and members are expected to help others. However, when such help comes with an expectation of favors, positions, or influence, it becomes a problem. He urged the NDC to be careful and investigate issues like this to avoid misunderstandings and division within the party.
Inusah Fuseini’s comments come after Sammy Gyamfi was heavily criticized on social media over a viral video showing him presenting motorbikes and a car to some party members. Some believe he is trying to buy influence or secure future favors within the party.
Others, however, have defended Sammy, saying he has always supported the NDC and should not be attacked for helping others.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not officially commented on the matter, but pressure continues to mount on Sammy Gyamfi to explain the reasons behind his donations.
Many party supporters are now waiting to see how the NDC leadership will handle the issue.
