Well-known journalist and political analyst, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has dropped some revelations about NPP’s report on the 2024 election defeat. He also expressed concerns about NPP’s silence on the report which he believes that the report may contain serious problems or bad news.
Mr. Pratt shared his views during an interview on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana show with host Moro Awudu. He asked why a political party that talked a lot about being transparent would choose to hide such an important report from the public and its members.
He said the only reasonable reason for keeping the report secret is that it may contain information that shows the party did not perform well or had internal issues during the elections. According to him, if the report had anything positive, the NPP would have shared it by now.
“If the report had something good in it, everyone would have seen it already,” he said. “Keeping it hidden tells us something is wrong. It must be horrible.”
There has been growing pressure from both party members and the public for the NPP to be open about what went wrong in the 2024 elections. The party lost in several important areas, and people are demanding answers.
Mr. Pratt believes the NPP must be honest and let people see the report. He added that this is the only way the party can regain public trust and start preparing well for future elections.
The NPP has not yet responded to these concerns or explained why the report has not been made public.
Kwesi Pratt’s comments have started conversations about transparency in political parties and whether leaders are ready to admit their mistakes for the sake of improvement.
