Businessman and politician, Kennedy Agyapong, has finally spoken about the recent controversy involving Sammy Gyamfi and his cash gift to Evangelist Mama Pat, also known as Agradaa.
Speaking at the YouthQuake Conference 2025 on Entrepreneurship and National Leadership at Central University on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Kennedy Agyapong said that if he were president, he would have sacked Sammy Gyamfi immediately.
According to him, there is enough evidence to remove Sammy Gyamfi from his position. He believes that any serious government should be built on discipline, honesty, and accountability.
“If I were in charge, Sammy Gyamfi would have been gone by now. There is no way I would keep him after something like this. The evidence is clear. My government would be full of discipline,” Kennedy Agyapong boldly stated.
He went on to say that under his leadership, there would be no room for favoritism or family and friends politics. He promised that nepotism would not be allowed in any form.
He said that there will be no ‘my party person’, ‘my friend’, or ‘my brother’ excuses in his government. He said that Ghanaians need to put the country first and run a disciplined government.
His comments come at a time when many Ghanaians are debating whether Sammy Gyamfi did the right thing by giving money to Agradaa. While some believe it was a kind gesture, others think it was wrong for someone in government to be giving such gifts, especially to controversial figures.
Kennedy Agyapong’s strong words have added more heat to the national conversation. So far, President John Dramani Mahama has pardoned Sammy Gyamfi.
