A High Court sitting in Accra—specifically General Jurisdiction Court 7—has approved a search and arrest warrant for Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison, the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana. The ruling was based on an ex-parte application presented by Superintendent of Police Sulemana Sulley Jnr. and approved by Justice Ali Baba Abature.
The warrant authorizes law enforcement to search Addison’s home in the upscale Airport Residential Area of Accra. It further empowers authorities to seize and secure any items found that may have been acquired through illicit means. In addition, the court order allows for the arrest of anyone present at the location if suspected of participating in criminal activity.
Signed by Registrar Nana Ama Dankwa-Smith, the directive signals the seriousness with which the case is being treated. The legal submission backing the application was handled by attorney Dominic Bakoma.
With the investigation still underway, security agencies are expected to follow through on the court’s instructions promptly and thoroughly.
