The Founder and Leader of Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has expressed disappointment about the current state of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. According to him, what he saw during his recent visit to the hospital was very shocking and disappointing. He has sent a message to President Mahama to do something immediately about the situation at the hospital.
He made these revelations while speaking to his church members on Sunday, 18th May, 2025.
Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is known as the biggest and most important health facility in Ghana. However, Prophet Oduro said the hospital is in a very poor condition. He said that the building leaks when it rains, and electrical wires and cables are placed carelessly all over the place. He could not understand why such a major hospital in the country would be left in such a bad state.
Prophet Oduro compared the situation at Korle Bu to his church. He said that his church building does not leak and it is managed properly, even though churches do not collect taxes like the government does. He believes that if he is able to take good care of his church without any support from the government, then the government should be able to do better with the resources it receives from the people through taxes.
He also questioned why citizens pay taxes but still have to experience such poor services at public institutions like hospitals. He described the condition of the hospital as unacceptable and called for immediate action to improve the situation. He said hospitals should be places of healing and safety, but the current state of Korle Bu puts both patients and staff at risk.
Many Ghanaians have shared similar concerns in the past about Korle Bu and other public hospitals. Prophet Oduro’s comments have once again drawn attention to the poor management and lack of maintenance in some of the country’s public institutions.
