President John Dramani Mahama has so far appointed a number of University lecturers into his government. These appointments show his confidence in the ideas and leadership skills of lecturers who have been teaching and researching for years.
Below is a list of some lecturers who have received appointments from President Mahama:
1. Professor Ransford Gyampo – A Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana. He was appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority. Prof. Gyampo is known for his work on governance and public policy.
2. Professor Kobby Mensah – A lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School. He is now the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company. He specializes in tourism marketing and public communication.
3. Professor Nana Ama Browne Klutse – She was appointed as the CEO of the Environmental Protection Agency. She is known for her expertise in climate change and environmental science.
4. Professor Lord Mensah – A professor of Financial Economics. He was appointed as the Head of the Local Government Service.
5. Professor Seidu Alidu – A Political Science lecturer who is now the Executive Secretary of the Water Resources Commission.
6. Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo – Appointed as Secretary to the Cabinet. He has rich experience in international relations and has served in past government roles.
7. Professor Theresah Patrine Ennin – Appointed as Special Aide to the Vice President. She has experience in academic research and education.
8. Professor Francis Dodoo – A sociologist who now serves as the Presidential Advisor on the National Anti-Corruption Programme.
9. Professor Ernest Kofi Davis – Appointed as Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
10. Dr. Shafic Osman – Now the Executive Secretary of the Public Utility Regulatory Commission.
11. Dr. Justice Srem-Sai – A respected law lecturer who is now the Deputy Attorney General.
12. Mr. Salisu Bi-Awuribe Esq – A law lecturer who was appointed as the Regional Minister for the Savannah Region.
13. Professor Michael Kpessa-Whyte – Recently appointed as the Acting Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA). He is a research fellow at the University of Ghana’s Institute of African Studies. He also previously served as the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme.
