The Ghana Police Service has welcomed back a man who has been on their wanted list since 2022. The man was brought back to Ghana on Saturday, 17th May, 2025.
The suspect, Adinda Akpo Abdul Mugibo, was recently arrested in Togo and handed over to Ghanaian authorities by the Togolese Police Force.
Mugibo, who is also known by several other names including Rashid Bawa, Maxwell, Papa Rich, and Dawa, holds both Ghanaian and Togolese identification. He was wanted for a series of robberies in Accra, especially in rich neighborhoods. His criminal activities were caught on CCTV cameras, making it easier for the police to identify him.
He had been hiding for a long time, but a joint effort by the Togolese Police, Interpol, and the Ghana Police helped to capture him in Lomé, the capital of Togo. After his arrest, he was sent back to Ghana to face the law.
The Ghana Police Service has thanked all the security agencies involved in the operation. They say this arrest is a sign of the strong partnership between Ghana and Togo in fighting crime across their borders.
Mugibo will be facing charges for his crimes and investigations are still ongoing. The police are also using this opportunity to remind the public to report any suspicious activity in their communities.
His return is a big win for Ghana’s fight against armed robbery, and authorities believe more cross-border operations will help catch other criminals hiding outside the country.
The Ghana Police has assured the public that they are working hard to make the country safer. They encourage everyone to work together with the police and provide information that could help in arresting other criminals still at large.
