Ghanaian musician and political activist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has publicly expressed satisfaction following reports of security operatives visiting the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
While official details regarding the purpose of the security visit remain undisclosed, A-Plus took to social media to share his reaction. In a video posted on his official platforms, he appeared jubilant, suggesting that the visit was a form of poetic justice. He stated, “What goes around comes around,” implying that the incident was a repercussion of past actions.
This development comes in the wake of a history of legal confrontations between A-Plus and Chairman Wontumi. In December 2022, A-Plus, along with other media personalities, was fined GHS 60,000 by a Tema High Court for contempt in a case initiated by Chairman Wontumi. The case revolved around discussions on UTV’s United Showbiz program, where allegations about Chairman Wontumi’s personal life were aired .
Furthermore, A-Plus has previously alleged that certain members of the NPP, including Chairman Wontumi, conspired to have him imprisoned due to his outspoken criticism of the party. He credited NPP Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong for intervening and preventing the alleged plan from materializing .
As of now, Chairman Wontumi has not issued a public statement regarding the security visit. The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with various individuals sharing their perspectives on the matter.
