Samson Lardy Anyenini, host of the popular current affairs program Newsfile on Joy News, has delivered a powerful message to Ghana’s political leaders, calling them out for the growing corruption and poor leadership affecting the country.
Speaking on his show on Saturday, 24th May, 2025, Samson said many Ghanaians are tired and heartbroken because of the continued stealing and mismanagement by those in power. He mentioned that two concerned citizens, Oliver Baka Vormawor and Louisa Alai, had shared their frustrations in a message to him, which he read aloud on live TV.
Samson noted that government officials are being placed on boards of major national companies like Ghana Airways, ECG, VRA, and the Ghana Water Company. Instead of helping these institutions grow, they allegedly use their positions to arrange shady contracts, steal resources, and benefit their friends and family members. When these companies collapse, they turn around and blame ordinary Ghanaians for the failure.
He criticized how the political elite steal from the country and treat the cries of the public as though they are mad people. “Yes, I am mad,” he said, “because this country cannot continue this way.
Samson further explained that Ghana is divided: one side filled with greedy leaders and the other side made up of disappointed citizens who have lost hope. He warned that no nation can survive when its leaders are looting the future, and its people are told to “pray harder.”
He also stressed that the real patriots of Ghana are not the politicians sitting in Parliament but those on the streets protesting and demanding change. He called for the arrest of corrupt individuals and recovery of stolen money, saying that it is time to stop protecting thieves simply because they belong to our political parties.
Samson ended by praising Louisa Alai, a chartered accountant and banker, calling her one of the few “good people” Ghana needs to rise again. He urged Ghanaians to wake up, speak out, and stop turning a blind eye to corruption.
