News coming in indicates that evangelist Nana Agradaa, known in real life as Patricia Asiedua has allegedly thrown away court summons in Empress Gifty defamation case. This incident happened on Monday, 26th May, 2025.
Ghanaian gospel musician, Empress Gifty, is in the news after taking legal action against Nana Agradaa. Empress Gifty has sued Agradaa for defamation and is demanding GH₵20 million as compensation.
The suit was filed at the Tema High Court on May 20, 2025. According to Empress Gifty, Nana Agradaa made false and hurtful statements about her during a live social media video on May 13. The video, which was in Twi, was streamed on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. In it, Agradaa allegedly insulted Gifty and made serious claims that affected her reputation.
Empress Gifty says the statements caused her and her family emotional pain. She added that her children are being teased at school because of the things Agradaa said about her.
She is now asking the court to award her GH₵20 million in damages, stop Agradaa from making any more comments about her, and order Agradaa to delete all the harmful videos. She is also asking for her legal fees to be paid.
But instead of responding seriously to the court case, Nana Agradaa reportedly mocked the situation. In a recent interview, she claimed that she had not received any official court summons. However, some reports say she actually received the court papers but threw them away. Agradaa reportedly said, “You can go to court 200 times, I don’t care,” and added, “Any idiot can go to court.”
This case has drawn a lot of attention from Ghanaians, with many people commenting on social media. Some believe Agradaa has crossed the line, while others think the matter should be settled out of court.
The court is yet to announce the next steps, but many are watching closely to see what happens in this high-profile case between two well-known figures.
