The Bank of Ghana has released the official exchange rates for Tuesday, 27th May 2025. These rates are used by commercial banks to trade in foreign currencies and are based on the average interbank exchange rates recorded at the close of business on Monday, 26th May 2025.
According to the Bank of Ghana, the US Dollar is being bought at GH¢10.3948 and sold at GH¢10.4052. This means if someone wants to change US dollars into Ghana cedis at the bank, they will receive GH¢10.3948 for each dollar. However, if someone wants to buy US dollars from the bank, they will have to pay GH¢10.4052 for each dollar.
For the British Pound, banks are buying at GH¢14.0964 and selling at GH¢14.1115. This shows a small increase compared to the previous week and may affect people who need to do transactions in pounds, such as those paying school fees abroad or doing international business.
The Euro is being bought at GH¢11.8288 and sold at GH¢11.8395. This makes it slightly cheaper than the pound sterling but still more expensive than the US dollar. Many Ghanaians and businesses that deal with Europe are likely to keep a close eye on these rates.
These exchange rates are very important for traders, importers, exporters, and even students who need foreign currency for their expenses. The rates also help guide the pricing of goods and services that are imported into the country.
The Bank of Ghana updates these rates daily and they may change based on the performance of the Ghana cedi against major international currencies. People who want to exchange money are encouraged to check the latest rates before doing any transactions.
