According to a report by GhanaWeb on Thursday, 29th May, 2025, a very sad incident has happened at MaryHill Girls High School . A young student named Ruby Zawadi Ndavi, who was in Form Two, has died after a school bus accident.
The accident happened after Ruby got off the school bus. The bus had taken a group of students to attend a St. John Ambulance event at Pioneer School in Maragua. After the event, as the students were returning, the accident took place. Sadly, Ruby lost her life at the scene.
According to Kenyan philanthropist Ndung’u Nyoro, Ruby died instantly. Three other girls were also hurt in the incident. Fortunately, they were treated and later sent home to recover. The school made sure to contact the families of all the students involved.
The headmistress of MaryHill Girls High School released a message to inform parents and guardians about what had happened.
In the statement, the principal said:
“We are very sad to tell you about an accident involving one of our school buses. The bus was returning from a St. John Ambulance program held at Pioneer School in Maragua. Sadly, one of our Form Two students, from class Mars, passed away. Three other students were injured but are now safe and at home.”
The principal also asked for everyone to pray for the school and the affected families during this difficult time. She added that the school would share any new updates with the parents as soon as possible.
The tragic loss of Ruby has left the school community in deep pain. Students, teachers, and parents are all mourning the young girl whose life ended so suddenly.
