The host of the popular Newsfile show on Joy News, Samson Lardy Anyenini, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to take strong action against Anne Sansa Daly. He says she must be arrested and prosecuted immediately for practicing medicine in Ghana without a valid license. He made this statement while speaking on his show on Saturday, 31st May, 2025.
This comes after President Mahama removed Sansa Daly from the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). The President replaced her with Prof. Dr. Ernest Yorke, who is the current Vice President of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA). The Office of the President said Prof. Yorke’s swearing-in should happen immediately.
Although the removal letter did not explain why Daly was taken off the board, several reports say it was because she does not have a valid medical license to work in Ghana. Many health experts and Ghanaians have questioned her qualifications and whether she was fit to serve on such an important board.
Samson Lardy said what Anne Sansa Daly did is a criminal offense. He explained that pretending to be a licensed medical doctor is not only wrong but also dangerous. “Her actions may have harmed or even killed patients who trusted her advice,” he said. He believes that the law must deal with her as a warning to others.
Samson Lardy added that this issue should not be taken lightly. He called on President Mahama to ensure that the police and the Medical and Dental Council begin investigations and take legal action against Sansa Daly.
The NHIA Board is responsible for overseeing Ghana’s health insurance policy, which helps millions of citizens access healthcare. Many people say only properly qualified and licensed professionals should be allowed to serve on such boards.
