The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the full list of Category ‘A’ Senior High Schools for the 2025 school selection exercise. These are the top-performing schools in the country based on academic performance, infrastructure, discipline, and other important criteria. The list helps students and parents make informed choices when selecting senior high schools.
In Greater Accra Region, a total of 12 schools have been listed under the Category ‘A’ group. These schools are known for their excellent records and strong reputations. They include both general senior high schools and technical institutes.

1. Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon
2. Accra Academy
3. Accra Girls’ Senior High School
4. Achimota Senior High School
5. St. Mary’s Senior High School, Korle Gonno
6. St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School, Cantonments
7. Tema Senior High School
8. Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC)
9. Tema Technical Institute
10. Ada Technical Institute
