According to a report by Citi FM on Sunday, 1st June, 2025, Joseph Ade Coker, who once served as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sadly passed away.
Although the exact cause of his death has not been officially stated, information gathered from close sources reveals that he died after a short illness. He passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Accra.
Ade Coker was known for boldly sharing his opinions on important national and political matters. Many members of the NDC, especially those at the grassroots level, respected and admired him for his dedication to the party.
He began his political journey with the NDC when he was first elected as the Greater Accra Regional Chairman in 2009. However, he lost the position during the 2022 elections to Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, who is now the current chairman.
Before he became deeply involved in politics, Ade Coker also worked in sports administration. He once served as the Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). In that role, he helped promote football and sports development in Ghana.
His death is a great loss not just to the NDC but also to the entire country. He contributed significantly to both politics and football in Ghana. Many people will remember him for his strong leadership, firm voice, and service to the nation.
The NDC and many others are mourning his death, as they reflect on the life of a man who gave so much to his country through public service and sports leadership.
