The Bank of Ghana has released the official exchange rates for Monday, June 2, 2025. These rates are used by commercial banks across the country for foreign currency transactions. The rates are based on the average interbank exchange rates at the close of business on Friday, May 30, 2025.
According to the Bank of Ghana, the US dollar is being bought at GH¢10.2749 and sold at GH¢10.2851. This means if you are selling US dollars to a bank, you will receive GH¢10.2749 per dollar, but if you are buying US dollars, you will pay GH¢10.2851 for each one.
For the British Pound Sterling (GBP), the buying rate is GH¢13.8454, while the selling rate is GH¢13.8603. This means that the British Pound remains one of the strongest foreign currencies in the Ghanaian market.
The Euro (€), another major international currency, is being bought at GH¢11.6622 and sold at GH¢11.6728. This shows that the Euro is still stronger than the Ghanaian cedi, although slightly weaker than the British Pound.
These exchange rates help businesses, importers, exporters, and travelers to calculate how much money they will receive or pay when changing currencies. It also allows banks and financial institutions to maintain consistency in their daily operations.
The Bank of Ghana regularly publishes such rates to ensure transparency and to guide the financial market. People who deal with foreign currencies are advised to check these rates before making any transactions.
It is important to note that the actual rates at forex bureaux or commercial banks may differ slightly from the official rates, as each financial institution may add its own charges or margins.
