According to a report by Metro TV on Monday, 2nd June, 2025, the Eastern Regional Minister, Honorable Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, visited the site of a serious road accident on the Koforidua-Adukrom highway. She came with her team to support the victims involved in the crash.
The accident happened between Mile 44 and Okrakwadwo. A commercial vehicle with the registration number GT 5160-17 was involved. The vehicle was travelling from Ashaiman to Koforidua when the accident occurred.
Several people were injured in the crash. Among them was a pregnant woman and some children. The condition of the victims was critical, and many needed urgent medical care.
