Nigerian music sensation Tiwa Savage has revealed why she chooses not to sign upcoming artistes, stating that managing musicians comes with overwhelming stress and responsibility.
In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, the Water and Garri hitmaker admitted that despite repeated calls for her to sign young talents, she does not believe she has the necessary skills to mentor and manage other artistes.
According to her, handling artistes requires a level of patience and dedication that she does not possess, as it often comes with unexpected challenges.
Tiwa Savage shared that the unpredictability of artistes’ actions, especially in the social media age, makes the task even more demanding.
She humorously noted that she could be asleep only to wake up and find her signee trending for the wrong reasons.
Rather than running a record label, the 45-year-old singer disclosed that she is focused on creating a music school where aspiring musicians can develop their craft before signing with record labels better equipped to guide them in their careers.
