A terrible accident on the Kadjebi-Dodo Pepeso Highway in the early hours of Thursday, March 10, 2025, has claimed the lives of five people. The accident happened when a Kia truck full of goods collided with a bus traveling from Bimbila to Accra.
According to reports, the two vehicles were trying to dodge potholes on the poor road when they crashed into each other. The road, which is known for its bad condition, has many deep potholes, making driving risky for all road users.
The Kia truck was carrying items such as bananas, oranges, and other market goods. It is believed that the traders were on their way to sell the goods when the accident happened. Sadly, four people in the Kia truck died on the spot due to the impact of the crash. One passenger on the bus also lost their life.
Several others were seriously injured and were rushed to nearby health centers for treatment. Eyewitnesses say the crash was loud and many people rushed to the scene to help the injured before emergency services arrived.
The accident has brought great sorrow to the families of those who died, as well as to the entire community. Many residents are now calling on the government to fix the Kadjebi-Dodo Pepeso Highway to prevent more accidents from happening in the future.
Police officers from the area have visited the scene and are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims have been taken to the morgue for identification and further action.
