Okatakyie Afrifa, the host of For The Records show on social media, has released a new video that is getting a lot of attention. In the video, he speaks about popular Ghanaian pastor, Prophet Kofi Oduro, and accuses him of being unfair and inconsistent in his comments about Ghanaian presidents.
During his show on the evening of Wednesday, 7th May 2025, Okatakyie Afrifa played a video clip of Prophet Kofi Oduro. In the video, Prophet Oduro was urging Ghanaians to pray for President John Dramani Mahama. He said the president needs a lot of prayers because he is leading the country with 16 regions and 276 constituencies. The prophet explained that managing the affairs of the country is a very tough job. He even said that some people struggle to manage their own homes—dealing with house rent, changing light bulbs, and other responsibilities—so leading an entire country is even more difficult.
Okatakyie Afrifa used this statement to question Prophet Oduro’s past behavior. He reminded viewers that the same prophet heavily criticized former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his administration when they were in power. According to Afrifa, Prophet Oduro accused the former president of mismanaging the economy and making life hard for Ghanaians.
Afrifa argued that if Prophet Oduro now understands that being president is not an easy job, then he should not have been so harsh on Akufo-Addo. He said the prophet is now showing sympathy for John Mahama but was not fair to the previous president.
The video has sparked debates online, with many people sharing their thoughts. Some agree with Afrifa and believe Prophet Oduro was too critical in the past, while others say it is okay for pastors to speak out when things go wrong.
The issue has become a trending topic on social media, as Ghanaians continue to share their views on whether pastors should stay neutral or speak out on political matters.
