A Ghanaian lawyer, Kwesi Botchway Jnr, has criticized President John Dramani Mahama for failing to deliver all the promises he made to Ghanaians during his first 120 days in office. According to the lawyer, President Mahama has not kept his word and should have resigned by now.
During the campaign and after his swearing-in as President, John Mahama promised to achieve some key targets within 120 days. These promises were meant to bring quick changes to the lives of ordinary Ghanaians. Some of the promises included reducing the cost of living, fighting corruption, creating jobs for the youth, and improving the quality of public services.
Now that the 120 days have passed, many people are asking if the President has kept his word. While a few of the promises have been started, many have not been completed or have not even begun. This has caused disappointment among some citizens.
Kwesi Botchway Jnr said, “If President Mahama takes Ghanaians seriously, he would have resigned by now for failing to deliver his 120-day policies. He has breached his own social contract.”
He explained that when a leader makes promises to the people and fails to deliver, it shows a lack of respect and responsibility. He believes that the President has broken the trust of the people who voted for him, and it is time for him to be honest and accountable.
Some members of the public have also shared their views. While others believe the President needs more time, some agree with Mr. Botchway’s comments and are calling for the government to be more serious about its promises.
