Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has come out to clarify the viral video showing National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, giving her money. She has stated the amount of money she received from Sammy Gyamfi.
It all started in a trending video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where Sammy Gyamfi was seen beside his white Range Rover with Agradaa, as she is heard demanding dollar notes from him.
The footage sparked public debate, with critics alleging that Gyamfi was distributing party funds on the streets of Accra.
However, Agradaa has responded to the controversy, stating that the amount she received from Sammy Gyamfi was not extravagant. According to her, the money was simply $1,000, and it was given to her to buy fuel for her car.
She also used the opportunity to express her support for the NDC, saying she has contributed to the party in various ways, including allowing her house to be used for free as a campaign venue. “I have helped the NDC a lot. They have used my house for campaigns without paying a pesewa,” she revealed.
The incident has resurfaced amid old allegations from 2024 suggesting that Sammy Gyamfi used party funds to sponsor a lavish trip to Miami with his wife. Gyamfi has since denied those claims, calling them baseless and politically motivated attempts to damage his reputation..
While the public continues to dissect the viral video and its implications, Agradaa’s clarification may calm some of the tensions surrounding the issue. Still, it raises further questions about the transparency and image of political figures ahead of the 2024 general elections.
