Prophet Kofi Oduro, the head of Alabaster International Ministries, made a passionate plea during a recent sermon, urging Ghana to embrace a new type of leadership capable of reversing the country’s economic woes.
He called for a leader who reflects the ideals and boldness of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Prophet Oduro criticized the current political options, stating that neither Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, John Dramani Mahama, nor any notable figure within the ruling NPP or opposition NDC has the qualities needed to lead Ghana into a prosperous future. He praised Nkrumah’s vision, courage, and commitment to development, saying, “That man was a legend,” and noted that modern politicians lack the transformative mindset necessary to drive real change.
Nkrumah is widely regarded for his role in Ghana’s independence and ambitious industrial policies. Prophet Oduro urged today’s leaders to adopt a similar spirit of determination and focus on nation-building rather than partisan gain.
His statement resonates with many Ghanaians dealing with economic instability and high living costs. While his message has sparked public interest, it remains to be seen whether it will influence Ghana’s political direction or leadership choices.
