Ghanaian politician and businessman, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, surprised many people with his rare show of humility and support at the thanksgiving service for the late mother of Rev. Obofour. The event took place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Anointed Palace Chapel in IPT Asuoyeboah, Kumasi.
The service was the final part of the funeral activities held for Nana Afia Pokuaa, the beloved mother of the founder of the Anointed Palace Chapel. Many important people from across the country attended the ceremony, but Kennedy Agyapong’s appearance stood out the most.
He arrived at the church dressed in white, showing respect for the occasion and joining others in honoring the late woman. In a calm and respectful manner, Kennedy Agyapong joined the man of God, Rev. Obofour, at the front. The two danced together peacefully during the praise session, a moment that surprised many who know Kennedy Agyapong for his bold and tough attitude in politics.
The former Member of Parliament for Assin Central also went up to the podium to speak. He gave a touching tribute, describing Madam Pokuaa as “a strong woman whose legacy clearly lives on through her son.” His kind words touched many hearts.
Kennedy Agyapong warmly embraced Rev. Obofour and his family, offering them words of comfort and support.
The thanksgiving service brought together pastors, celebrities, politicians, and supporters from all walks of life. It followed earlier funeral events that included a memorial night on May 30 and a burial service on May 31.
Nana Afia Pokuaa is survived by six children and 22 grandchildren. Kennedy Agyapong’s peaceful and respectful actions at the church have become one of the most talked-about moments from the event, with many praising his humility and support.
