Award-winning rapper, Sarkodie has joined the campaign on social media to fix the Tema-motorway.
The Tema Motorway, which used to be one of the top roads in the country in terms of quality, is now in a deplorable situation, resulting in multiple accidents.
A substantial stretch of the road is littered with potholes that have become death hazards over time.
The hashtag #FixTheTemaMotorway has been trending on Twitter this week as citizens advocate for the awful road to be repaired.
Sarkodie’s attention was called to the campaign on Twitter, where he stated, “about time.”
The Tema Motorway, one of the country’s principal highways, has undergone significant wear and tear in recent years, creating large potholes and posing a security concern to vehicles.
The Tema Motorway has worsened especially in recent weeks, and locals have taken it into their own hands to demand that the government fix the road.
Sarkodie, who grew up and spent the majority of his childhood in Tema, has stated that it is “About time” the road is repaired to save lives.
On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the rapper tweeted, “About time #FixtTheTemaMotorway.”
Sarkodie was responding to a post by the social media account “Ghana Mu Nsem” urging him to join the ‘FixtheMotorway’ campaign in order to get the government to intervene.
