Shocking video of an assault at Adisadel College has gone viral, resulting to the expulsion of two final-year students involved. The incident happened on June 30, 2023, in one of the school’s Quaque House dorms.
According to a school statement, the video has provoked a serious investigation, which will continue until the final judgment of the Board of Governors and the Ghana Education Service (GES). The two perpetrators have been ejected from the institution as a result of their activities.
The main perpetrator of the assault will not be allowed to write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on campus. Instead, he will have to go to a designated WAEC center to take the exam. The victim, on the other hand, will also be sent home but will have to return to the school to write the exams, accompanied by a parent or guardian. It has been revealed that the victim failed to report the incident to the school authorities until the video caught the attention of the officials.
A third student involved in the incident, who was responsible for shooting the video and distributing it online, will also face disciplinary punishment. He was given a one-week external suspension and will afterwards serve a one-week interior suspension with work. As part of the punishment, his cell phone will be taken.
All other students who were present during the assault but did not intervene or report the incident face internal suspension as a result of the incident.
Further actions have been taken against the Quaque House’s housemaster and his assistants, who have been immediately suspended pending the outcome of investigations conducted by GES officials.

The gravity of the incident has also led to the suspension of the Quaque Housemaster and his assistants with immediate effect. The Ghana Education Service (GES) officials are conducting an independent investigation into the incident to ensure a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the assault.
The video’s release has aroused significant anxiety among the school’s enormous old students organization (Santaclausians), raising concerns about the school’s safety and discipline. Adisadel College’s prompt response to the incident illustrates the institution’s dedication to providing a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.
