Ghanaian musician and social media personality Efia Odo has shared her perspective on the Cecilia Dapaah incident.
Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the Minister for Sanitation, experienced controversy in July 2023 when court documents revealed that two of her domestic servants were accused of stealing considerable amounts of money and precious items from her.
A million dollars, £300,000, and a large amount of clothing and jewels were among the stolen things.
The revelation led the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to conduct an investigation into the source of her income. This prompted investigators to examine her properties, where they uncovered $590,000 and Gh2.7 million inside her Abelemkpe property.
Efia Odo blasted the sanitation minister on Twitter for not making an attempt to improve her appearance while having access to significant resources. She notably mentioned the quality of her wigs, saying they were subpar.
In her tweet, Efia Odo humorously commented, “Even with all that money, she couldn’t buy a decent wig. The wig is stiffer than wood.”
However, her tweet sparked backlash from many followers, who perceived her comment as shallow and trivializing a serious matter.
