Ahmed Oloade, popularly known as Asake, on Sunday night made history as the first Nigerian newbie to sell out the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom.
During Asake’s recent concert at the O2, his big entrance via helicopter in the center of the arena was a remarkable moment.
He performed songs from both his debut album, ‘Mr Money With The Vibe,’ and his second effort, ‘Work Of Art.’ Special guests at the event included his fellow YBNL label member, Fireboy DML, as well as Lil Kesh and other brilliant talents.
Olamide, Fireboy, and Tiwa Savage were among the acts on the bill. However, due to curfew laws at the O2 Arena, the event had to end sooner than anticipated.
Since his breakthrough, Asake’s music has constantly resonated with Nigerians both at home and abroad. In September 2022, he released his debut album, “Mr Money,” which established a record for the biggest opening day streams for an African album on Apple Music up to that moment.
As a result of this achievement, Asake joins the ranks of Nigerian music giants such as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy in selling out the prestigious O2 Arena.
