The youngster of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James had a heart arrest but is currently stable.
It happened on Monday at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where the 18-year-old was playing basketball.
“Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,” a family spokesman stated. Bronny was treated and taken to the hospital by medical personnel.
“He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information.
“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
According to sources at USC’s Galen Center, he was rushed to the hospital unconscious after a 911 call was placed soon before 9.30 a.m.

Bronny James chose to play for USC’s basketball team, the Trojans, earlier this year, seeking to follow in his father’s famed footsteps.
He was recognized as one of the top high school players and garnered college scholarship offers.
His father, LeBron James, is the NBA’s all-time top scorer and widely recognized as one of the game’s all-time greats.
He has previously stated that it is his desire to play on the same court as his son at the top echelon of basketball.
