Ghanaian rapper OJ Blaq who recently passed on. Reports say he died in the early hours of Thursday, August 17, 2023.
Known outside showbiz as Andy Nii Akrashie, the 40-year-old rose to fame with the release of his debut album, titled “The Blaq Mixtape,” in 2006.
His musical career continued to flourish, marked by multiple projects and singles, including the popular track “Chalewote.”
The Family Empowerment Worship Centre (EWC) has invited “all well wishers” to the one week observation service for OJ Blaq.
The service is slated for Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Achimota EWC auditorium – behind the Shell fuel station.
Though the cause of death is not immediately known, in the past, OJ Blaq battled kidney disease, which he attributed to smoking and drinking.
The 2016 diagnosis marked the Hiphop/Hiplife star’s switch into the Gospel music fraternity.
His friends and other celebrities have gathered at his one-week observation to prepare for his funeral
