Jamie Foxx has been pictured in public for the first time after being hospitalized in April due to an unexpected medical problem.
Foxx was spotted in a boat on the Chicago River on Sunday, according to TMZ. Foxx appears to be in good health in the video, waving to the videographer. He was aboard with numerous other passengers.
Foxx was sent to a hospital in Atlanta in April due to a “medical complication.” Corinne Foxx, his daughter, verified the condition at the time, saying, “Fortunately, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.” We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. During this difficult period, the family requests privacy.”
The new footage of Foxx marks his first public appearance since, seemingly affirming that the actor is on his road to recovery.
Foxx later released a personal statement thanking fans for their “love” and assuring them that he was “feeling blessed” amid his recovery. Details surrounding Foxx’s condition have been sparse in the weeks since, though his daughter shared that he had been “recuperating” and “playing pickleball” in late May.
Foxx was appearing alongside Cameron Diaz in the Netflix film ‘Back in Action’ at the time of his hospitalization. He also hosts and executive produces the Fox game program ‘Beat Shazam,’ which premiered in 2017.
Due to Foxx’s hospitalization, the sixth season premiered in May, with Nick Cannon stepping over as guest host. Jamie and Corinne Foxx will co-host ‘We Are Family,’ a new music-themed game show that will premiere on Fox in 2024.
