The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) is said to have captured Bugri Naabu’s personal aide, the former Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mr Naabu informed Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM that his personal aide, S.K, and receptionist, Akua, arrived at work as usual.
However, when he arrived at his workplace and did not locate them, he became concerned and attempted to contact them.
Later, he learned that both SK and Akua had been transported to the BNI office.
“I learnt they came with a white car and police people men well-armed pushed them in and took them away,” he said.
The NPP stalwart said “I don’t know their whereabouts but I am getting information that they are in BNI (now NIB), Kawukudi Junction.”
Bugri Naabu stated that he intends to go to the NIB headquarters with his lawyers to find out why he was arrested.
“So I’m appealing to you, the journalists, and I’m also getting some lawyers to join them to figure out what’s going on,” he continued.
He believes the arrest is related to a leaked audio in which voices can be heard scheming against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The matter is still being investigated, and more information is not yet available.
