A Kaneshie District Court has remanded two more suspects apprehended by the police over the weekend in connection with the Ablekuma Fan milk bullion van heist.
The police have detained four people so far.
On July 4, 2023, the same court remanded unemployed Benjamin Ojogbe and Rashid Abdul in connection with the heist.
They were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder, and the District Court upheld their pleas.
The action carried out by the four accused men allegedly resulted in the death of Lance Corporal Calyptus Amoah.
The two new suspects who are now in legal custody are scheduled to appear in court on August 3, 2023.
In June of this year, some unknown males allegedly shot and killed Lance Corporal Amoah during a suspected robbery attempt on the occupants of a bullion truck at an Ablekuma Fan Milk gasoline station.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the alleged robbers followed the van as it went to refuel at a gas station, when a gunfight happened.
It said the policeman was seated on the passenger seat in front of the vehicle on security duties when he was shot at close range.
Police investigations led to the arrest of Ojogbe and Abdul at Circle Railways while they were enjoying themselves at about 1:30 a.m. On July 15, 2023, the Police arrested another accused person in neighbouring Togo.
