Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister in charge of Government Communications, has shared what President John Dramani Mahama will be doing this week.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, 4th May, 2025, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu announced that the President is entering a very important week where the progress of his 120-day Social Contract will be reviewed.
According to him, the week will start with the launch of a new Code of Conduct for all government appointees. This code is expected to guide how ministers and other officials behave while in office. It will focus on transparency, honesty, and accountability to the people of Ghana.
The Code of Conduct will set rules to ensure that appointees do not abuse their power or get involved in corrupt activities. It will also help in making sure that government officials serve the country with dedication and respect for the laws of Ghana.
President Mahama announced the 120-day Social Contract shortly after being sworn into office earlier this year. The contract includes several promises to improve the lives of Ghanaians, such as creating jobs, fighting corruption, improving education and healthcare, and reducing the cost of living. This week, his team will assess how much of that has been achieved so far.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu explained that this review will help the government know which areas need more attention. He also said that the President is committed to fulfilling every promise made in the Social Contract.
Ghanaians are watching closely to see how this week unfolds, as many are eager to see real change and improvement in their lives. The release of the Code of Conduct is expected to be the first of many steps in making sure the government remains accountable to the people.
